About Me

You might be waking up in the middle of the night, wondering how you can do this parenting and life thing. Maybe you’re desperately seeking that moment of calm where you can think for just a second in the midst of all the things.

I get it. I know exactly how intense “normal life” can be when you’re trying to figure out how to parent through the tantrum, find someone to get the bathroom drain fixed, and get that work project across the finish line. I can help you find a brief pause in the grind to breathe, support you in collecting yourself, and then help you move forward with insight and actionable next steps.

I had my kiddo at 41 while working in a challenging leadership role. I loved that baby so much, but sometimes it felt like my head was going to explode with everything I was trying to learn about being a mom. I was a sleep deprived zombie, getting acclimated to my postpartum body and life, while trying to get back into my demanding job. I had to work through the anxiety and the overfunctioning, the guilt and the overwhelm, to find ways to support my own body and mind so I could show up for myself and my family. I haven’t lived your exact life, but I can empathize with where you are, and together, we can figure out how to get you some relief and what to do next.

I’m an LMSW, supervised by Andy Davis, LCSW-S, at Polaris Therapy, LLC in Austin, TX, which means my clinical work is regularly reviewed to ensure you’re getting thoughtful, well-supported care. I provide telehealth services across Texas. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which I’ll use to bring light to what’s actually happening and what you’re thinking and feeling, and determine next steps. And I bring a systemic and liberation focused lens, meaning I’ll acknowledge the systems that got you where you are and together we’ll determine what it’s possible to do individually within those systems. Mindfulness and self-compassion are part of how we’ll work together, too — you’ll walk away with concrete tools for calming your system and softening how you talk to yourself. Because you might just need some relief — from yourself.

Wondering if my approach might be a good fit for you? To schedule your free 15 minute consultation, fill out the contact form. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions and see if my approach aligns with your needs and priorities. If so, we’ll schedule a time for your first full session.

I work with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Aetna, and offer a sliding scale — details on the questions page.
